In the beginning of 2017, I got serious about losing weight. I struggled with my weight all my life. After two kids, a desk job and life stressors I found myself at the heaviest I had ever been and knew I had to change. I developed healthy eating habits, introduced quality supplementation and began to walk and use a stationary bike. In the summer of 2017, I set a goal to run a 5k. I had never been very athletic much less a runner. At the suggestion of a friend, I downloaded an app and began training. It was hard, but I just kept going. At some point my distaste for running turned into a passion. When I crossed the finish line of my first 5k in October of 2017, I set a new goal to come back to that same race the following year and run the half marathon. This year, I plan to run 3 half marathons and multiple 5ks. I never would have imagined myself as a runner, but I am proof that anyone can do it. Since starting my weight loss journey, I have lost 100 lbs and counting. I went from barely being able to walk a mile to running a half marathon.
