Having never completed more than a 5k before 2017, my drive to be more active and my participation on Team Beef led me to running 5, 8 and 10k races over the course the year. Despite a horse riding injury that tore my MCL in May, I was able to recover and run my first half marathon in January 2018.
Running with Team Beef has given me the opportunity, and the extra drive, to set and reach new goals in fitness. Plus, seeing friends incorporate more lean beef as a source of protein in their diets has been a great reward!
I am proud to work for Florida’s farmers and ranchers at the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and even more proud to race with Team Beef.
