I have always struggled with my weight and running. A year or so back a couple of my friends convinced me to run my first 5K. I am so grateful that they did! I had an amazing time and started looking for more races that I could participate in. I love doing it with friends and the competitiveness of it is always exciting! The picture I attached was the first time I won my age division at a race, it was an amazing experience. I have been hooked ever since. As an undergraduate student at the University of Florida I made a decision to join the UF Meat Judging Team. I instantly fell in love. I had grown up showing pigs and cattle but had never been a part of the meat side of it. I loved it so much I decided to stick around for a Master’s degree in Meat Science. During my graduate studies I was able to coach the Meat Animal Evaluation Team as well as help coach the Quiz Bowl Team that competed at the Reciprocal Meats Conference every year. I have always been an advocate for the industry, even more so now than ever and I would love to represent Team Beef and have the opportunity to continue to share my passion.
