I am a high school Life Sciences and Fine Arts Teacher and am the advisor for three (3) 4H clubs in Flagler County Schools- FPC Bulldogs 4H and BTMS Eagles 4H Clubs and FPC Bulldogs Robotics (which fields BattleBot, SeaPerch, and FIRST Robotics- FIRST Tech Challenge and FIRST Robotics Competition Teams). I am also an Assistant Scoutmaster of a Boy Scout Troop in Flagler County (Central Florida Council).
I feel that it is important as a teacher of Biology and Anatomy and Physiology courses, as a 4H leader, and as an Assistant Scoutmaster that is consistently teaching about macro/ micronutrients, healthy choices and human body systems, it is important for me to also live out the example of healthy life choices.
As a 4H advisor, Vice President of the Flagler County FFA Alumni Association and as a member of the Flagler County 4H Association Advisory Council, I am an Ag advocate and Ag educator. Whether my students and members are planning on pursuing Ag related fields or other interests after high school graduation, it is important for them to understand the importance of healthy eating and the role of beef, pork, and other Ag industry producers in bringing the food that they eat to their table.
